A Helibras desenvolveu para a Força Aérea Brasileira (FAB) e Marinha (Esquadrões HU-1/HU-3) versão militar do H125 designada H125M 'Fennec', equipada com armamentos (metralhadoras MAG, lança-foguetes, mísseis ar-ar Mistral) e aviônicos militares. Frota brasileira FAB/Marinha/Exército de H125M chega a ~50 unidades, padronizada como helicóptero leve militar nacional. Programa SH-1 da Marinha utiliza H125M para CASA (Combate Anti-Submarino limitado) e patrulha.
Em janeiro de 2014, a EADS unificou as marcas do grupo sob 'Airbus Group' e rebranded a Eurocopter como 'Airbus Helicopters'. Permite operações em altitudes extremas (Andes, Himalaia, Alpes) e missões de mineração/utility em DAs até 14.000 ft. FADEC dual-channel reduz workload do piloto e otimiza consumo de combustível em cruise. TBO de 4.000h mantém custo de motor competitivo.
