  1. 1982 - Joint-venture MBB + Kawasaki, primeiro helicóptero germano-japonês

    Em 1977, MBB (Alemanha Ocidental, ex-Messerschmitt) e Kawasaki Heavy Industries (Japão) assinaram acordo de joint-venture para desenvolver medium-twin compartilhado, único caso de cooperação industrial germano-japonesa em helicópteros até hoje. Voo inaugural do BK117 em junho de 1979 (na Alemanha). Certificação JCAB (Japão) e LBA (Alemanha) em 1982. Plantas de produção em Donauwörth (Alemanha, 70% da produção) e Gifu (Japão, 30%, KHI Aerospace). Mais de 460 unidades produzidas em 25 anos.

Produção do BK117 encerrou em 2004; EC145 entrou em produção contínua. Em 2014, com unificação Airbus Helicopters, EC145 virou H145. Em 2020, versão H145D3 com rotor 5-pás certificada, quinta geração da linhagem BK117 → EC145 → H145 → H145D3.
